The Knoxville Police Department welcomes back Officer Fred Kimber, a 23-year KPD veteran who returned in late September after completing a one-year military deployment in Texas as a member of the U.S. Army Reserve.
Upon his return, Officer Kimber, who is assigned to the Personnel Unit as a recruitment officer, was thrust into the KPD’s month-long recruitment campaign in October. In that capacity, he followed up with potential recruits who applied via the KPD’s new recruiting website,
www.joinknoxpd.com.
And during the first week of November, Officer Kimber temporarily filled in on patrol to assist throughout the week of the 2020 presidential election.
Throughout his career, Officer Fred Kimber has received numerous commendations from his colleagues, supervisors and members of the public as a result of his exemplary service to the community, including in 2000 when he was nominated for the KPD Officer of the Year Award. The KPD is grateful to Officer Fred Kimber for his commitment to serving his community and country with dignity, honor and integrity.
