$4.9 M Investment: Rollout of KPD Cameras Nearly Complete
Within weeks of taking office, one of the first decisions made by Mayor Indya Kincannon was to invest in upgrading the Police Department’s in-car patrol cruiser cameras and outfitting all uniformed personnel with body-worn cameras.
The City last year signed a five-year $4.9 million contract with Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Axon Enterprise Inc., and the training and installation of the state-of-the-art technology is nearing completion.
Find out why Lt. Darrell Griffin, who commands an overnight patrol squad, is thankful for the new camera equipment.

This month’s mystery employee is busy preparing for the budget season. She’s lived in East Tennessee for as long as she’s worked for the City of Knoxville, which is 12 years.
She eats a peanut butter and jelly sandwich every day for lunch, but -- plot twist -- hamburgers are her favorite food.
And if she takes candy from a jar or basket, she’s likely to take an amount in odd numbers -- 3 or 5, not 2 or 4.
Do you know this City of Knoxville employee?
