The men and women of the Public Service Department know a thing or two about Waste and Resources Management.
They make it easy to check when the trash and recycling trucks will roll by your house. They share information to help you be a better recycler. And when roadside litter got out of hand in February, 54 employees gave up a Saturday to fan out across the city and fill 542 bags of trash.
Public Service gets the job done.
Did you know that, with a few clicks, anyone in the City can find out what day their trash will be collected, and whether this is the week (or is it next week?) to set out the curbside cart for recyclables?

Or maybe you’re not sure whether that orange juice carton is trash or can be recycled. And what about that coffee cup lid, or plastic picnic cups and plates? Garbage, or recyclable?
Use the same link to find useful and detailed information about what is and is not recyclable.
If you didn’t hear about the big litter pickup blitz back on Feb. 20,
here’s a City Blog post that details why the crews were doing it – and how community groups were organizing cleanups of their own.
