Starting this week, Southern Constructors Inc. contractor crews will begin making repairs to the Woodland Avenue bridge spanning Davanna Street and Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks in North Knoxville, close to Interstate 275.
Lane closures are anticipated for the duration of the two-month project. Traffic controls will be put in place this evening (Monday, July 19).
Southern Constructors Inc. crews will be making repairs to the bridge approaches and joints through mid-September. The City is funding the $163,053 project through a competitively-bid contract.
The Woodland Avenue bridge is the second bridge to undergo City-funded repairs this summer. Similar work on the approaches and joints of the Boyds Bridge Pike bridge in East Knoxville got underway earlier this month.
