Mayor Bill Haslam will take City Hall to South Knoxville on Monday in a bus tour with stops to visit with residents in the Old Sevier area. The mayor and city officials will leave from South Knoxville Elementary School, 801 Sevier Ave., at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
The neighborhood bus tour will travel Sevier Avenue, Philips Avenue, Langford Avenue, Dixie Street, Lincoln Street, Valley Avenue, Pedigo Street, Edmonds Avenue, Davenport Road, Susanne Avenue, Irene Avenue, Carmichael Street, Jonathan Avenue, Sam Houston Street, Carmichael Street, Millers Avenue, Mimosa Avenue, Dawson Street, Jones Street, Yarnell Street, Atchley Street, and Baker Avenue before returning to South Knoxville Elementary School.
"Like the Listening Tours and Walking Tours, this bus tour is designed to make it convenient for residents to share their ideas about their neighborhood and the city," Mayor Haslam said. "My goal is to make city government more efficient and accountable and listening to citizens plays an important role in that effort."
