The trolley routes will change on June 14, 2004 to better serve downtown commuters and visitors.
The new Red Line Trolley will serve as a North end downtown parking shuttle, traveling in a continuous loop from the Civic Coliseum Parking Garage to the Downtown Knoxville Business District.
The Red Line will pass the East Tennessee History Center, Krutch Park, Market Square, TVA Towers and the Tennessee Theater. It will operate weekdays, every seven minutes, from 6:30-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.
The Blue Line Trolley will continue to serve as a South end downtown parking shuttle, with continuous loop service from the Civic Coliseum Parking Garage to the Downtown Knoxville Business District.
The Blue Line will no longer run along Church Avenue. It will return to Clinch Avenue, which was closed for construction. The Blue Line will operate weekdays, every 10 minutes or less, from 6 a.m.-6 p.m.
The Blue Line Extension will be removed. Service to Summit Towers will be provided by the new Orange Line Extension, which will operate weekdays, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. As always, the trolleys operate free of charge. For more information contact Knoxville Area Transit at (865) 637-3000.
