Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale announced the availability of free maps that display virtually every park, greenway and recreation facility in the Knoxville area.
"We're excited to team up with Knox County on a project that will provide valuable information to Knoxville and Knox County residents," said Mayor Haslam. "There are many recreational opportunities in the Knoxville area that residents, until now, may not have been aware of." "Parks are one of our most important community resources for both Knoxville and Knox County," said Mayor Ragsdale. "By working cooperative with Mayor Haslam's office, we are going to make them more accessible to more people than ever before." The four-color maps are 18 inches by 20 inches and contain City of Knoxville parks and recreation facilities on one side, and Knox County parks and recreation facilities on the other. Addresses, amenities, and telephone numbers are provided in addition to the location of each recreational opportunity. These maps are free and may be obtained at Knoxville and Knox County Parks and Recreation offices, City of Knoxville recreation centers, and public libraries.
