Knoxville Fire Department Chief Robert Key said Thursday that he has accepted the resignation of Assistant Fire Chief Mark Foulks, who will become the new chief of the Greeneville Fire Department.
Key said that Foulks has made numerous contributions to the department and the city and that he will be missed. "Assistant Chief Foulks has been a valuable member of the department and we're sorry to see him go," Key said Thursday. "But we also realize this is an excellent opportunity for him and we wish him well.
"Foulks, 37, has been a Knoxville firefighter since 1990. He was selected for his new position from a pool of 35 applicants and the Greeneville Board of Mayor and Alderman voted to hire him during a meeting earlier this week. Assistant Chief Foulks and his wife Pam are the parents of three children.
