Mayor Haslam honored 123 City of Knoxville employees who have served at least 20 years with the city or have retired during the past year. The total years of service to Knoxville and its citizens of the active employees equaled to 1,780 years. The longest serving employee present was Claude E. Earl, who retired this year after serving 50 years with the Knoxville Fire Department.
Lunch was provided at the Knoxville Coliseum ball room and all honorees were given awards and photos with their supervisors and Mayor Haslam.
