Mayor Bill Haslam led a special breakfast Tuesday at the Knoxville Convention Center to help generate support from local business leaders for this year's Christmas in the City celebration.
Mayor Haslam discussed plans for the 2008 holiday season and encouraged business leaders to add lighted trees to the rooftops of their buildings as a way to make Knoxville a holiday stop and increase tourism and retail traffic.
The Special Events Department provided information on purchasing rooftop trees to assist businesses participating in the campaign.
More than 50 businesses already participate in the city's holiday up-on-the-rooftop tree program.
If you would like more information on adding a lighted tree to the rooftop of your business or have questions regarding the city's Christmas in the City events, please contact the Special Events Department at 865-215-4248.
