Keep Knoxville Beautiful (KKB) will be hosting their KKB Summit on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The KKB Summit: Cleaner, Greener, Connected will be held in the Stone Room at the UT Conference Center, 600 Henley Street.
The KKB Summit: Cleaner, Greener, Connected, will showcase the environmental and sustainable efforts in Knoxville working to improve our mobility. The goal of this event is not only to highlight the positive efforts occurring in our community but also to stimulate awareness of long-term initiatives. The Summit will begin with a keynote speaker and close out with two panel discussion.
The keynote speaker for the event is Ellen Zavisca, Principal Planner, Knoxville Regional Transportation Planning Organization (TPO). Zavisca will focus on the TPO’s 2045 Mobility Plan, specifically highlighting funding for transit, bikeways and sidewalks. The first panel discussion will focus on electrification and public transportation featuring speakers from Tennessee Valley Authority, Knoxville Utilities Board, and Knoxville Area Transit. The second panel will focus on outdoor spaces and public health with speakers from the Appalachian Mountain Biking Club, University of Tennessee, and City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation.
