The City of Knoxville's youth basketball leagues are still open for signups. Boys and girls ages seven through 14 can register.
League games are played weekly, December through February. Games are held in City recreation centers and local school gymnasiums.
"We host these basketball leagues to engrain fitness and teamwork in Knoxville youth at an early age," said Joe Walsh, City Parks and Recreation Director. "Hopefully, these leagues will encourage children to stay active and we can fight the increasing childhood obesity issue one child at a time."
