The City of Knoxville will host a ceremony renaming the current Union Square Park at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 10 at 500 Chestnut Street.
The park will be renamed in honor of Knoxville native, Paul Hogue, an Austin High School graduate who helped lead the University of Cincinnati basketball team to NCAA championships in 1961 and 1962.
Hogue, who went on to play for the New York Knicks and Baltimore Bullets, died in 2009 at the age of 69.
Mayor Daniel Brown and members of Mr. Hogue's family will be among those participating in the ceremony.
