Knoxville Zoo is planning an evening of fun for the entire family this Saturday! Zoo To Do, an after-hours event featuring familyfriendly food and entertainment, will be held on Saturday, April 16, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Knoxville Zoo.
Modeled after the zoo's extremely popular grown-up event Feast with the Beasts, this all-ages party will feature samplings of food and treats from Buddy's BBQ, Captain D's Seafood, Jason's Deli, Krispy Kreme, McAlister's Deli, Papa Murphy's Pizza, Rita's Italian Ice, Smoothie King, Sweet Manna Catering, U.T. Culinary Institute, Coca-Cola, Cruze Dairy Farms, Juice Plus+, Salsarita's Fresh Cantina and Brixx Pizza.
Street theatre performers One World Circus will entertain event-goers along with Broadway Academy of Performing Arts and Bounce USA. Tuatha Dea Drum Nation will provide a special drum experience for event-goers, too. The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and their mascot Rufus will be teaching how to prevent dog bites and attendees will enjoy special treats from Simon Kidgits Club at Knoxville Center, Wendy's, Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, Gray Fossil Museum ORNL Federal Credit Union and Zuma Fun Center. The evening's excitement doesn't stop there; jugglers, face-painters and belly dancers will be keeping things lively throughout the event.
Tickets for Zoo To Do are $15 each and can be purchased online at www.knoxvillezoo.org, by phone at (865) 637-5331 ext. 300 or at the zoo's ticket window during regular zoo hours. Zoo members receive a $3 discount on tickets, and children under two are free.
Knoxville Zoo is Knoxville's largest year-round attraction. Located off exit 392A from Interstate 40, the zoo is open every day except Christmas Day. Knoxville Zoo is nationally accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and is committed to the highest standards in animal care and well-being, ethics, conservation, and education. Currently, the zoo is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission and ticket sales stop one-hour before the zoo closes.
