Experience the beautiful holiday lights of downtown, 4th & Gill and Old North Knoxville by bicycle as part of the 6th Annual Tour de Lights.
The family-friendly, fun ride will leave from Market Square (near the stage) at 7 p.m., Thursday, December 13th.
Participants are encouraged to get creative with lights, seasonal decorations and/or costumes and there will be prizes be awarded for best decorated person, best decorated bicycle and best decorated helmet. Judging starts at 6 p.m.
All ages and skill levels are welcome on this easy, short ride, which covers about five miles. There is also a "Mini-Tour" Option with fewer hills. There is a location in 4th and Gill that becomes a short-cut for anyone who is feeling distance-challenged. Once the ride leaders have reached the intersection of Luttrell and Caswell for their return trip downtown, everyone will be routed back with the main pack, skipping the portion of the route through Old North Knoxville (and thus, missing several hills!).
Free bike safety checks will be offered from 6 p.m. until the ride starts.
Helmets and front white lights are required.
Hot cocoa and treats are available thanks to Mast General Store and Three Rivers Market.
