      Individuals and Groups Honored at 1st Annual Equity Awards Breakfast

      As part of National Community Development Week, the City of Knoxville's Department of Community Development hosted its first-ever Equity Awards Breakfast this morning. The awards recognized the efforts of local individuals and groups in promoting accessibility, fairness and inclusion for all Knoxville residents in housing, the workplace and the community.

      Disability Service Awards
      Allison Gose - "Promoting the Inclusion of People With Disabilities"
      Lindsay Lee - "Promoting the Inclusion of People With Disabilities"
      The 2012 Accessibility Event - "Promoting a More Accessible Built Environment"

      Fair Housing Awards
      Angela Rauber - "Excellence in Fair Housing Enforcement"
      Kendra Mansur - "Excellence in Fair Housing Advocacy"
      Apartment Association of Greater Knoxville - "Excellence in Fair Housing Education"
      Tennessee Human Rights Commission - "Excellence in Fair Housing Enforcement"

      (Recognizes efforts in business expansion, job creation and/or businesses 51 percent owned by HUD-qualified low-income local residents)
