KUB and its contractor will close a short section of Fern Street to through traffic between Martin Luther King Avenue and Selma Avenue weekdays from 7 a.m. through 5 p.m. beginning Monday, June 24, and lasting through Friday, July 12, as work is completed on the sewer collection system in this area.
The only exception to no-weekend work will be on Saturday, June 29. Starting on Monday, July 15, and lasting through Saturday, August 31, weather permitting, this section of Fern Street will be open to one alternating lane of traffic daily.
Access to driveways and other entrances/exits will remain open for local traffic and emergency vehicles on this section of Fern Street. Alternate routes include Oakland Street.
Note: Work on this section of Fern Street originally scheduled to begin on June 10 was postponed and is now set to begin on June 24.
Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at this location to assist motorists traveling in the area. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use extreme caution and expect temporary delays in this area.
