Officials held a ribbon cutting for the new playground at Sam Duff Park at 4060 Chapman Highway on Wednesday. The project cost an estimated $30,000.
Each year, Knoxville Parks and Recreation upgrades at least two playgrounds that are in need of improvements.
The playgrounds replaced in 2013 were at Sam Duff Park and Cumberland Estates Recreation Center.
The playground at Sam Duff Park was replaced in response to requests from surrounding neighborhoods.
