City Staff Join Commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

City table at MLK LuncheonMayor Indya Kincannon congratulated Knoxville's Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Commission on their 40th anniversary last week when she spoke at their annual MLK Leadership Awards Luncheon. Several City staff members attended, as well as local community and business leaders.

The event was thought-provoking, hopeful and celebratory -- especially when our very own Director of Community Empowerment Charles Lomax Jr. received the Award for Diversity Champion. Our videographer Shawn Davis captured some highlights of the luncheon and its inspiring keynote speaker Nona Jones.
