May 6, 2014 - A public meeting regarding the Jackson Avenue Streetscapes Plan will be held on Thursday, May 15 starting at 5:30 p.m. in Remedy Coffee located at 125 W. Jackson Ave. in the Old City.
Public input is sought for public amenities along Jackson Avenue, from Patton Street to the eastern ramp of Jackson onto Gay Street.
Improvements could include widening sidewalks, adding or reconfiguring on-street parking, planting new trees, burying utility lines and making other utility or communications upgrades.
Representatives from CDM Smith, the City of Knoxville's Office of Redevelopment and other City staff will discuss preliminary plans, but the planning is in its early stages, and fresh ideas and suggestions from stakeholders are encouraged.
The work has not yet been scheduled, pending the analysis of public input that's now being gathered.
