The Knoxville South Waterfront Pedestrian and Bike Bridge is a highly visible public improvement project designed to stimulate redevelopment efforts along the City’s south riverfront. The bridge is defined as one of the South Waterfront Vision & Action Plan's most popular features. It is considered a significant public improvement project to link Knoxville’s south and north waterfronts.
The bridge will span over the Tennessee River and connect to the University of Tennessee’s Thompson-Boling Arena, an 18 mile downtown greenway system on the north side, and a 45 mile Urban Wilderness Trail system on the south side.
