The City of Knoxville held a triple celebration at Sam Duff Memorial park on November 4th, 2022.
Nearly a hundred people gathered to recognize Arbor Day, cut the ribbon on a new dog park, and to celebrate the completion of nearly ½ million in ADA improvements at the South Knoxville park.
The Arbor Day ceremony included remarks from Mayor Kincannon, a proclamation reminding people that the City moved its Arbor Day celebrations to the first week of November to signify the start of tree-planting season, and awards that included naming the city of Knoxville as a Tree City U.S.A. City for the 31st year in a row!
Mayor Kincannon, Harrison Forbes from the Boyd Foundation, and other City leaders (Along with Dee Dee the Pup) cut the ribbon on one of 10 new Dog Parks across our region.
