Inskip Flats - Knoxville's latest affordable housing community, supported by the City of Knoxville's $2 million investment - is nearing completion.
At 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, Mayor Indya Kincannon will join Southeast Capital developers Jake Varner and David Varner and other project partners to cut a ceremonial ribbon and celebrate the impending opening of 66 new affordable housing units at Inskip Flats, located at 806 E. Inskip Drive.
Others in attendance will include Housing and Neighborhood Development Director Kevin DuBose, City staff, City Council members, project partners Bass Berry and Sims, Churchill Stateside Group, Wallace Architects, Davie Construction and the Tennessee Housing Development Association (THDA).
The City of Knoxville's $1,980,000 investment from its Affordable Development Fund leveraged more than $15 million in private investments for the project. The property, which will be leased by Emerald Housing Management, also includes a community room with internet access and laundry facilities.
