Engineering Department Director Tom Clabo Wins Award
Engineering Department Director Tom Clabo was recently awarded the “Sandra N. Knight Award for Distinguished Government Service” by the Tennessee Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
This annual award is provided to a government engineer member of the Tennessee Section of ASCE who has made definite contributions to the Society at the National, Section, and/or Branch levels.
Tom started working for the City of Knoxville in 1993 and has moved all the way up the ranks to his current position of Engineering Director. He has been a mentor and leader to many young engineers as he advanced this profession.
Engineering Department Deputy Director Stephen ‘Steve’ J. King Wins Award
Engineering Department Deputy Director Stephen ‘Steve’ J. King was recently awarded the “Distinguished Service Award” by the Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers.
This award was established to recognize the outstanding service of long-time TSPE members for “eminence attained by technical contributions to the field of engineering by exceptional contributions to the engineering profession.”
Steve has worked for the City through five mayoral administrations and 43 years of service. He will be retiring from the City of Knoxville at the end of 2023.
