It’s easy to get into a rut with your activities. Have you tried anything new lately? A whole season of workshops to activate your creativity are on offer at the
Knoxville Arts Center.
Senior Arts Specialist Kelly Sullivan says many City employees and/or their children take classes of all kinds at KAC. It’s good for you, she says.
“Art and creativity have been linked to mental well-being,” says Sullivan. “And the best thing is, you do not have to ‘be an artist’ to get some creative time in.”

team led at Kid A' Riffic events during summer 2023.
Many workshops are one-day affairs with all materials provided and participants do not have to purchase anything other than the class.
Yes, buying supplies can be part of the fun, but what if you decide macrame or weaving or screenprinting isn't the hobby for you?
“Taking a class with us is a nice way to try something out,” says Sullivan.
City employees and members of their households get a 25 percent discount off all classes. You will need to call KAC or stop by their location on N. Broadway to register and receive the discount.
Not sure if a workshop will suit your skills or interests? Just ask!
“If you have questions before registering, give us a call. Most of our classes are for all skill levels, and we offer everything from clay, to dance to macramé -- we even have cheese making!"
“There is really something for everyone to come and try– you never know you might find something you LOVE!!”
