Say hello to Scott Jenkins! He’s Planning & Safety Manager for Public Service
“I am here in a support-role effort for whatever employees or areas may need,” he says.
Scott Jenkins works with his team to provide assistance and training for 304 Public Service employees. His biggest responsibility, he says, is the continuity of operations -- which includes payroll, training, workers' compensation, benefits enrollment, work order management, and then some.
He also collaborates with Director Chad Weth and Deputy Director Rachel Butzler to plan both intra and interdepartmental projects for the City.
In 2022, Scott received the Edward C. Archer Young Public Works Leader of the Year Award from the Tennessee Chapter of the American Public Works Association (TCAPWA), which held its annual meeting in Knoxville that fall. He joined several members of the public service team in accepting an award for their performances in the Heavy Equipment Rodeo.
His favorite foods are steak and wings, and you may find him may grilling these as one of his favorite activities or as a reward after running a half-marathon -- of which he has completed four. He also participates in other smaller races.
He and his wife Leah have been together for 15 years and have two boys, Fletcher, 5, and Charles, 1.
Thanks for helping keep Public Service operations running smoothly, Scott!
