With the official start of spring just a day away, Knoxville residents may be looking forward for ways to get outside and have fun in the coming months of 2024.
The City’s Office of Special Events works with multiple City departments and community organizations to produce events throughout the year that are free, family-friendly and open to the public. Here are some events to anticipate and dates to circle on your calendar for 2024.
Concerts on the Square is a free live music series presented by Comcast with support from Downtown Knoxville Alliance, Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union, B97.5 FM, Xfinity, and the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra.
Concerts on the Square – Jazz Tuesdays
Jazz on the Square (Tuesdays in May, June and September) will feature groups led by Taber Gable, Greg Tardy, Ken Brown, Margherita Fava, Sam Adams, Jon Hamar and many other performers from Knoxville’s amazingly talented jazz scene. Shows are 7-9 p.m. We’ll list specific performers at KnoxvilleTN.gov/concerts when they’re announced.
Concerts on the Square – Variety Thursdays
Every third Thursday starting in May means a variety of musical genres presented on the Market Square stage.

Kid A'Riffic Fun in the Park
Free activities and fun, including crafts, games and giveaways for children age 2-12 provided by City departments and community partners. Wednesdays in June & July, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the following locations:

June 5 – Baxter Avenue Park and Knoxville Fire Station No. 3

June 12 – Chilhowee Park, including a Touch-A-Truck with City vehicles
