Public Meetings on Consolidated Plan Set for Sept. 4 & 10, 2024

Posted: 08/19/2024
The City's Housing and Neighborhood Development Department has set the dates for two public meetings to discuss the development of the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan. Residents are invited to learn more and provide their feedback on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. or Tuesday, Sept. 10, 6-8 p.m. at Public Works Service Center, 3131 Morris Avenue.

The agenda for both meetings will be the same. The Zoom links will be available at KnoxvilleTN.gov/ConsolidatedPlan the day prior to the meeting. All attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback during the meeting.

Every five years, the City’s Housing and Neighborhood Development department embarks on this process to seek and receive feedback from service providers and residents regarding Knoxville’s community development needs.

The plan will set local funding priorities for an expected $15 million (over five years) of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships, and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) dollars for affordable housing, homelessness, economic development, and other community development activities that serve low- and moderate-income households. The plan will be submitted to HUD by the deadline of May 15, 2025.

In addition to commenting in person, residents may provide feedback via email to [email protected] or [email protected] or in writing to Linda Rust, City of Knoxville Housing and Neighborhood Development Department, P.O. Box 1631, Knoxville, TN  37901.
