Cherokee Health Systems (CHS) this month announced the launch of its newest service, a walk-in clinic located on the historic campus of the former St. Mary’s Medical Center in Oakwood, North Knoxville.
The new Get Well Now service offering is designed to provide high-quality, convenient care to all community members, regardless of their insurance status.
The Get Well Now clinic reflects CHS' ongoing commitment to evolving primary care services to meet the needs of modern patients, particularly younger generations who value quick access to healthcare without the need for appointments.
The clinic offers care for sickness, non-emergency primary care, and chronic disease management, all in a welcoming, community-centered environment.
In celebration of the clinic's opening, Knoxville City Mayor Indya Kincannon and CHS' CEO Dr. Parinda Khatri led a community ribbon-cutting ceremony, as primary healthcare provision returned to the former St. Mary’s site for the first time since the hospital closed in December 2018.
“Today marks an important milestone for Cherokee Health Systems and the residents of Knoxville,” said Dr. Parinda Khatri, CEO of CHS. “With Get Well Now, we are not only bringing compassionate, high-quality care back to the heart of the community but also addressing the evolving healthcare needs of younger generations who seek accessible, on-demand service. Our goal is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their insurance circumstances, has ready access to the healthcare they need, when they need it. We are excited about the future and look forward to continuing to serve this community with dedication and care.”
Get Well Now is the first in a planned series of walk-in clinics by CHS, with further locations expected to launch in 2025 and beyond. The facility is conveniently located at 1515 St. Mary Street, Knoxville, TN 37917, and will be open to all members of the community.
