Meet Kara Finger!
Kara joined the City as Deputy Policy Officer in August 2024, working on policy and initiatives with a variety of City departments.
Kara collects glassware -- including carnival glass, Fiestaware, and Lenox Holiday -- and also penguins.
Her experience working with youth in the community is inextricably connected to her personal life.
She was just 19 years old when she became a "Big Sister" for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of East Tennessee.
Fast forward many years, and that decision as a college student led to a recent major milestone: she officially adopted the "precious, empathic, red-headed 10 year old" that she has been fostering for more than four years.
