The Greenways Commission was created to study the needs and desires of city residents and to promote the development of new greenways and the maintenance of existing ones.


APPOINTMENT OF BOARD MEMBERS

The Commission consists of up to 20 members who reside in Knox County, but the majority of the members must be residents in the City of Knoxville. Members are appointed by the Mayor for three-year terms.


MEETINGS SCHEDULE

The Greenways Commission meets on the second Tuesday in the months of February, April, June, August, October and December. Meetings are from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and typically held at the Public Works Complex at 3131 Morris Avenue, however, meeting locations may vary. Please check with Parks & Recreation Deputy Director Aaron Browning (ABrowning@KnoxvilleTN.gov) for confirmation of location and time.
