Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and Police Chief David Rausch today named Hayden Marshall the 2015 Explorer of the Year for the Knoxville Police Department. Explorer Marshall has been with KPD since February 2013.
Hayden’s hard work and dedication have allowed him the opportunity to advance through the ranks of the program. He has served as a Squad Leader and is currently the Executive Officer for the post. Throughout his time with the explorers, Hayden has done a remarkable job of taking the initiative and responsibility to excel in everything he does. He continues to set a good example for the other explorers, is proactive, and continues to seek out new opportunities and ideas to not only increase his work and exposure to law enforcement, but also to better the Explorer Unit.
In 2015, Explorer Marshall donated over 334 hours to the Knoxville Police Department and the community. This does not count the time away from the department spent contacting and coordinating with the other twenty-four members of the unit. These hours are the result of working 46 of the 67 activities that the post participated in during the year; more than any other current explorer member.
We congratulate Explorer Marshall and thank him for his dedication to the department and the citizens of Knoxville.
