Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and Police Chief David Rausch today named Janice Woodard the February Employee of the Month for the Knoxville Police Department. Ms. Woodard has been with the department since 1998.
During Ms. Woodard’s time with KPD, she has been the assistant to seven deputy chiefs. In this critical role, Janice has worked tirelessly to ensure that the operation of the division runs as smoothly as possible while balancing the unique nature of the work and workload. Ms. Woodard was recently tasked to update the department’s homeland security credentials. In doing so, she was required to identify which employees needed badges, print and distribute the forms, coordinate the return of the forms, coordinate with personnel and the chief’s office the receipt of photos for the badges, along with imputing the tremendous amount of data into the homeland security database.
In addition to taking on this challenge, Janice volunteered and completed the tasks that were assigned to another office assistant who was out for medical leave during two separate periods for a total of 18 weeks. Again, this was on top of her normal obligations of maintaining accurate payroll information, keeping track of leave requests, and arranging travel for training assignments.
Chief Rausch said, “Janice has been a long-standing employee at KPD and has adapted well to the various demands that have been placed on her. Janice has excelled in her duties and has made the Criminal Investigations Division a stronger division because of her efforts.”
