Knoxville Slides is an initiative that takes advantage of Knoxville's hilly terrain to provide unexpected play opportunities in the city with embankment slides (built into hillsides) adjacent to existing stairs.
On March 21, 2017, the City opened its pilot "Knoxville Slides" project at the parking garage of the Civic Auditorium and Coliseum, adjacent to the largest stop for the City's free trolley service.
Now, visitors to events at the Civic Auditorium and Coliseum can burn off energy before the show, and trolley riders will have something to keep them active while waiting for the next trolley!
