CDBG BASICS: TRAINING FOR PRACTITIONERS

October 2, 2019

TRAINING VENUE LOCATION

Hyatt Place Knoxville / Downtown
530 S. Gay Street
Knoxville, TN 37902

COURSE OVERVIEW

As part of the NCDA regional conference, this one day course will provide a quick and basic overview of the CDBG program. As a primer class, the intent is to provide practitioners with enough information and resources to know where they need to look to find more information on managing the CDBG grant.

This course will provide a basic understanding of CDBG National Objectives and eligible activities. The course will also provide an introduction to the CDBG regulations, including spending caps, financial management, and program administration. Finally, the class will touch briefly on cross cutting requirements that impact CDBG activities, such as lead based paint, labor standards, environmental reviews, and others.

Participants will also learn important program definitions, the components of the Consolidated Plan and the Annual Action Plan, what’s covered under the administration and planning activities, and grantee responsibility for monitoring sub‐recipients. Class participants will also learn the difference between a sub‐recipient, contractor, and a Community‐Based Development Organization (CBDO) and their roles, as outlined in the regulations.

A course agenda is located at the bottom of this page - click here. In order to ensure a spot for you in this class, please register directly online at https://ncdaonline.regfox.com/knoxville-cdbg-b---1-day.

Participants are encouraged to go on to the full three day CDBG Basics Course for deeper knowledge of the CDBG program.
