Vintage Baseball Comes to Knoxville's Ramsey House

Posted: 03/14/2014
March 14, 2014 - Come on out Knoxville, for the American Pastime as it was played in the beginning.

Historic Ramsey House at 2614 Thorn Grove Pike, off Gov John Sevier Hwy, will be hosting the opening of East Tennessee's first season of Vintage Baseball on Saturday April 12, 2014 at 12 p.m. (noon).

The opening game will be a double header featuring Oakhill Traveller's vs The Dry Town Boys of Roan County. In the second game The Knoxville Holston's vs Franklin Farrier's.

The rules are authentic for that time, the uniforms are period replicas and the laughs are never ending.

To mark the opening, the Visitor's Center will have an exhibit of Vintage Baseball items such as uniforms, bats, ball, gloves, old photos and more. These items will be on display from mid March through April 12th and available to view during our regular hours.

The event is open to the public at no charge.

Ramsey House will have food and beverages available for sale to those that have the need for traditional ballpark snacks.

You need only bring yourself, your family and friends along with lawn chairs or blankets.

Come support our local team and enjoy an afternoon of family entertainment, history and fun centered on the game that has been so beloved for generations.

The Ramsey House season schedule is available on their website at www.ramseyhouse.org. Office hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
