KUB Lane Closures on Rugby Ave., W. Summit Hill & Clinch Ave.

Due to utility maintenance KUB will have lane closures on Rugby Ave., W. Summit Hill & Clinch Ave.

South Knoxville) Rugby Avenue Southeast Lane Closure [September 6] – KUB contract crews will reduce Rugby Avenue Southeast to one alternating lane of traffic from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, as work is performed on the water distribution system in the area. The westbound lane will be closed while the eastbound lane remains open and is used to alternate traffic. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. 

(Downtown Knoxville) W. Summit Hill Drive Lane Closure [September 6-7] – KUB crews will close the inside, westbound lane of W. Summit Hill Drive at the Locust Street intersection daily, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Tuesday, September 6, and Wednesday, September 7, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. Both eastbound lanes, one westbound lane, and turn access to/from Locust Street will be maintained. Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary. 

(Downtown Knoxville) Clinch Avenue Road Closure [September 6-7] – KUB crews will close a section of Clinch Avenue between S. Gay Street and Market Street overnight from 11 p.m., Tuesday, September 6, through 6 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, as work is performed on the electric distribution system in the area. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. Alternate routes include S. Gay Street, W. Church Avenue, Market Street, and Walnut Street. Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary. 

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
