Everly Brothers Park

The pocket park connects to the Bearden Village Greenway at the corner of Kingston Pike and Forest Park Boulevard. Beautiful landscaping currently fills the park along with sumac trees along the perimeter.

A small stage, benches, walkways, plaques with quotes from well-known musicians about the Everly Brothers and a signature art piece make it a stunning addition to the city and an engaging destination.

A Tennessee Music Pathways marker was added in September 2022 to commemorate the Everly Brothers impact on the music industry.

HISTORY OF THE PARK

The park is named in honor of country and rock & roll duo the Everly Brothers. The Everly brothers, Isaac Donald "Don" and Phillip "Phil", moved to Knoxville with their family in 1953, where they attended West High School. While in Knoxville, the brothers caught their first break from a family friend, Chet Atkins, manager of RCA Victor’s studio in Nashville. Soon after, the brothers became a duo and launched their musical careers. The Everly Brothers, along with musical pioneers Buddy Holly, Elvis, Little Richard, and Chuck Berry ushered in the early years of rock and roll.
