On Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, Madeline Rogero was sworn in as the City of Knoxville's first female Mayor.

The Mayor has responsibility for the administration of all city government programs and services. Administrative oversight, constituent response and appointments to regulatory boards are some of the important duties of this office.
 
Mayor Rogero is dedicated to promoting a vibrant local economy, strong neighborhoods, a high quality of life, a thriving downtown and a greener Knoxville.
