First Night Knoxville 2009, the New Year's Eve celebration of the arts in downtown Knoxville, will launch the sales of 2009 Admission Buttons at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 on the Market Square stage.

Mayor Bill Haslam will help kick off the sales with the purchase of the first button. Representatives from event co-sponsors Regal Entertainment Group and Pilot Corporation will also be in attendance. A sampling of First Night entertainment will be provided.

First Night Knoxville features artists from around the region performing in multiples venues throughout downtown Knoxville. A First Night Admission Button admits guests to all of the indoor entertainment venues and provides discounts on selected outdoor attractions. Additional free entertainment will be presented outdoors throughout the Market Square District. First Night will culminate in the traditional countdown and ball drop at midnight on Market Square.
