Neighborhood entrance signs are important community assets, but they must be permitted by the City of Knoxville, either under the City’s sign ordinance or through a separate process if the sign can be located in city right-of-way (ROW).
The application must come through the Office of Neighborhood Empowerment (ONE) to ensure that the neighborhood is registered with the us, the neighborhood has filled out the proper application, and the neighborhood/subdivision name is what will be displayed on the sign.
Please read the Neighborhood Entrance Sign Guide prior to filling out an application. If you have any questions, please contact Debbie Sharp at
