William Hastie Park sits on over 110 acres and consists of open space and over 4 miles of unpaved trails for hiking, trail running, PLUS mountain biking!
Mountain biking is a natural fit for Knoxville's hilly terrain, and riders have over four miles of wooded trails to enjoy thanks to the
Appalachian Mountain Bicycle Association's hard work at the William Hastie Natural Area. The group logged more than 1,000 labor hours cutting trails that are suitable for hiking, trail running and mountain biking. Working with the Lake Forest Neighborhood Association, Parks and Recreation continues to look at ways to make this public wilderness more friendly.
In 2021, 27+ acres were purchased by AMBC, then donated to the City of Knoxville to increase the size of this park and build more trails.
