Directions to Ijams Nature Center Welcome Center: Head south on Gay Street and cross the Gay Street Bridge; turn left onto Sevier Avenue; go approximately 2 miles and turn left onto Island Home Avenue; after approximately 1 mile, turn right to remain on Island Home Avenue; follow Island Home Avenue approximately 2 miles; Ijams Nature Center will be on the left.
Miles of diverse trails await you at Ijams Nature Center and Ijams Quarries. The tranquil trails at the Nature Center wind through undisturbed woods where wildflowers carpet the path and songbirds twill. Across the street, the rugged terrain that was once home to a post-industrial landscape, has been redesigned into almost 10 miles of multi-use trails that comprise the Quarry and Natural Area Trail System.

ROCK CLIMBING AT THE CRAG
The Ijams Crag is Knoxville’s only outdoor rock climbing area. Located just off the Burnett Ridge Trail in the Ross Marble section of Ijams, the Crag offers outdoor climbing opportunities for both beginner and experienced climbers. The site features a cliff line with moderate grades, solid rock, reliable access and close proximity to downtown Knoxville. This is a climb-at-your-own-risk area. Obtain proper training and guidance before climbing. Parking for The Crag is on Aberdeen Lane.
NOTE: Climbers using this site must sign waiver forms, located at the Crag kiosk prior to climbing.

HISTORY OF THE PARK
Originally developed by Harry Ijams, Knoxville's leading bird expert, and Alice Yoe Ijams, "First Lady of Knoxville Garden Clubs", the area has been a gathering point for bird and nature-lovers for more than a century.

This public space was donated to the City and has been managed by the Ijams Nature Center staff and Board of Directors since the 1960s.
PARK RULES & REGULATIONS
1.) For the protection of our park and the safety of its users, the following are prohibited:
- No alcoholic beverages
- No open fires
- No hitting golf balls anywhere in the park
- No motorized vehicles in park
- No equestrian activity
2.) Per city ordinance, all animals must be maintained on a leash.
3.) Please be respectful of other trail users.
4.) Please help to keep our parks beautiful by disposing trash in proper receptacles.
5.) Hours - Open dawn to dusk unless otherwise posted.
