Public's input sought on MLK Corridor

Posted: 02/13/2006
Individuals interested in the redevelopment of Five Points and Burlington communities are invited to a public meeting hosted by the City of Knoxville on Thursday, Feb. 16 at Austin-East High School's Performing Arts Auditorium.

The City is working with the Metropolitan Planning Commission and other partners on a Martin Luther King Jr. Corridor Study that will identify redevelopment opportunities and resources. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a presentation about the area's history, current conditions and assistance programs.

Participants will then break into small groups for discussion and analysis. The event will conclude with a summary from the small groups and report regarding the next steps in the project. For more information, contact the City of Knoxville by dialing 311.
