Ribbon Cutting at O.P. Jenkins Furniture StoreO.P. Jenkins founded the store in downtown Knoxville in 1907, and it has been a family-owned and operated fixture in downtown since then. It is one of the oldest continuously operated family businesses in Knoxville.
The original store was located in a building less than 200 feet from the store's present current location and the website proudly points out that it has survived two World Wars and the Great Depression.
Meg Troutman, O.P. Jenkins' great granddaughter, and her husband Terry Troutman currently own and operate the business.
The store is currently located at 209 W. Summit Hill Drive.
