Part of Kingston Pike Reduced to Two Lanes for Bridge Work

Posted: 10/08/2009
Beginning on Sunday, October 11, Kingston Pike will be reduced to two lanes at the intersection of Forest Park Boulevard as the Tennessee Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin a year-long project to replace the bridge over the Norfolk Southern tracks there.

The lane reduction will remain in place throughout the duration of the work and part of Forest Park Boulevard at Kingston Pike will also be closed to traffic.

Drivers are expected to experience delays due to the construction and it will create some changes in some Knoxville Area Transit bus routes. It will also lead to the temporary closing of some stops on nearby Lyons View Pike.

For more information about KAT and any changes necessary as a result of the construction please go to www.Katbus.com

TDOT will begin work on the project about 7 p.m. on Sunday, weather permitting.
