Over the last few months, over 900 citizens participated in an online survey or special meeting sharing their opinions and ideas about community needs as part of the City of Knoxville's Consolidated Plan Citizen Participation Process. Many others involved with community organizations/agencies also provided valuable insights about community needs that will help with drafting the plan. The Consolidated Plan outlines the strategies the City will use to meet community priorities over the next five years with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) funds and Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG).
The City's Community Development staff will present their findings, discuss draft high and low priority community needs, and the strategies identified to meet those needs at a public meeting at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 27th, 2015, at the John T. O'Connor Center, located at 611 Winona Street. Comments and ideas will also be taken at the meeting.
