KUB Lane Closures on W. Summit Hill Dr., Central St., Whitower Dr.

Posted: 01/23/2015
KUB will have the following lane closures due to utility maintenance:

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project - West Summit Hill Drive & Central Street Intersection Closure [January 26-27] - KUB and its contractor, Garney Construction, will close the intersection of West Summit Hill Drive and Central Street from 7 a.m., Monday, January 26, until 6 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Multiple Utilities Upgrade Project. Traffic will be detoured south down South Central Street, Commerce Avenue, State Street, Willow Avenue, and Patton Street. After the above mentioned dates, one lane will be open on both West Summit Hill Drive and Central Street to allow for traffic flow. In the coming weeks, this intersection will again be closed as repairs are made to the street. A follow-up advisory will be issued ahead of the repair work.

Whitower Drive Road Closure EXTENDED [January 26-30] - KUB will close both lanes on a short section of Whitower Drive near the north side of the S. Northshore Drive intersection between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. daily, starting Monday, January 26, through Friday, January 30, as work is performed on the water and natural gas distribution system in the area. Detour routes include Tobler Road, Rutgers Drive, and Whitower Drive.

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use extreme caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
