KUB will have the following lane closures due to utility maintenance:
Kingston Pike Lane Closure [Rescheduled for Overnight, January 14-15] - KUB will close a short section of the westbound, curbside lane of Kingston Pike between Cemetery Road and N. Mohican Street starting at 11 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, until 6 a.m., Thursday, January 15, as work is performed on the water distribution system in the area. One westbound lane, the center turn lane, and both eastbound lanes will remain open. This work and lane closure was originally scheduled for January 13.
Market Street Road Closure [January 14-15] - KUB will close a short section of Market Street between Clinch Avenue and West Church Avenue from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., on Wednesday, January 14, and Thursday, January 15, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. Detour routes include S. Gay Street and Clinch Avenue. The sidewalk on the west side of the street will remain open. Friday, January 16, will be used as a rain date if necessary.
Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use extreme caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
