KPD Names Connor Timms Explorer of the Year

Posted: 04/03/2017
Rogero, Timms, RauschKnoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and Chief David Rausch today named Connor Timms the 2016 Explorer of the year for the Knoxville Police Department.

Explorer Timms has been with the KPD Explorer Post since February 2014 when he began the Basic Explorer Academy.  During his time in the program, Conner’s hard work and dedication have allowed him the opportunity to advance through the ranks of the program. He has served as a Squad Leader and was recently promoted to the Executive Officer for the Post.  Connor stepped into this leadership position immediately and has performed very well.  He sets a good example for the other explorers, is punctual in his duties, is respectful and disciplined, and has never been counseled.  Conner is pro-active and seeks out opportunities to not only increase his work and exposure to law enforcement, but also to better the Explorer Unit.

In 2016, Explorer Timms donated almost 400 hours to the Knoxville Police Department and the community.  This does not count the time away from the department spent contacting and coordinating with the other eighteen members of the Explorer Unit.  These hours are a result of working 58 of the 83 activities that the post participated in during 2016; more than any other current explorer member.

We congratulate Explorer Timms on his unselfish dedication, dependability, outstanding performance, and his dedication to the Knoxville Police Department.
